I went to Grayson Sunday afternoon to check out one in person. It was a dark gray metallic with cvt. I gotta say I like it as much if not more than my 2012. There was a salesman there and he had the car open and actually running on the lot. I got to check out the interior and was very impressed with it overall. I think If I could have afforded it I would have drove it home Sunday.

Last week found out that Val's uncle with the Factory Five project actually might ditch the project and buy a 2015 STI and turn it into his track car after all the reviews and research he's been doing. He also wants a mustang but I'm begging him to get the STI.

Very nice.

I'm amazed how quick this model has turned on us. It went from "meh" to Hell yeah pretty fast.

Although I think it's popularity went up fast when Mitsubishi made the no more evo announcement. Can't look like an evo if it doesn't exist.

The car is definitely more aggressive looking in person. The pictures don't give you a good perspective of how wide the car is. I personally think the looks are great. I suppose many will argue the merits of its looks, but I don't see how you can argue the performance. It is hard to explain how they meshed performance and confidence into the same vehicle. Crazy fun.

There are some initial logs from a stock 2015 WRX on 91ACN. They're not good. Looks like Subaru is still letting these things knock like crazy--despite DI and what should be a more efficient platform. 13:1 AFR at full boost @ 3K RPM.

Cali 91octane, 3000 ft elevation, stock 2015 wrx

IAM was 0.6875 when I started logging, got up to 1.0 in 3 miles, then knocked back down to 0.8 by the time I got home.

Mishimoto is having a presale on their 2015 wrx intakes right now and giving a discount to nasioc members. supposedly it will give 30hp+ and it doesn't even need a tune. What do you guys think? Is it too good to be true? Presale, details, dyno...

30whp!? I'd wait it out and let someone else locate the limitations of the FA.

I wouldn't do it without seeing how it reacts on everyone's car. It never pays to be an early adopter in the Subaru game.

Of course it pays... Just not to the person who owns the car. :marcus:

We test drove a base WRX today. To my surprise, I was disappointed. It is totally unlike my beloved rex. The driver's and passenger position are too high up. The shifter feels disconnected from the car. There is no feedback. Probably because of the cable linkage. The engine may have a slight increase and HP and more torque. Sure the twinscroll turbo spools quick, but the car just doesn't sound or feel like a beast. It's hard to explain. I'm sure it's a great car. But I like my 13' better. I plan on driving the new STI next. Maybe the magic is still there. My two cents.

Interesting. I've only heard glowing reviews for the new WRX. Well, other than the hopelessly optimistic people on Nasioc that thought it was the next Jesus car. Its funny you mentioned the disconnected feel in the shifter. I felt the same way when I bought my 09 WRX after driving Mustangs for most of my life. The shifter is mounted directly on to the transmission. Those are some good feels.

The boxer rumble is gone thanks to the twin-scroll headers. Maybe that's what you are missing?

Is your WRX modified?

I don't have any performance mods on my 13' WRX. I do have the STI short throw shifter but I'm pretty sure the difference in driver feedback is the cable linkage. However, we drove the new 2015 STI today and we loved it. We loved it so much, that we are really considering trading up. We would have to have another white one as that is our color of choice.

I have a 2007 wrx with some mods. I drove the 2015 sti today. I felt so disconnected from the vehicle. Brake, shifting, and steering feedback felt like a video game. Not the car for me.
